Endless new version update loading loop

I'm not sure if this is a bug or my browser (Chrome) or what, but when I get the blue new version available notice and click the update link, my page tries to refresh, but gets stuck in an endless loading loop. It's not a huge problem because I can just reload the page from the Chrome reload page circular arrow in the top left corner. I'm really just curious what's going on.

Yeah that happens every now and again for me, too. Although as you said you can just refresh out of it so I'm not too worried about it.
