it looks like in March-2017 you removed $1,020 from your "Money Reserves" envelope but the envelope only had $927.52 in it ($1,020 - $92.48).

Said another way, you need to pull 92.48 from other categories to cover that overspent category.

Please if I can be bold enough to ask you exactly step by step how to do this.........

In order to get rid of the negative you need to "unbudget" or "free up" some money from one of your other categories that have positive balances. That money can then be budgeted toward your negative Money Reserves category balance to bring it to zero.

An example would be as follows...

  • Enter "-65.00" as a budgeted value for your Union Gas category.
  • Your Union Gas category balance should go to zero. Available to Budget (at the top) should now be 65.00.
  • Change your Money Reserves budged value from "-1020.00" to "-955.00" (add 65.00 to the negative number).
  • Your new Money Reserves category should no now be -27.48.
  • Repeat with any other positive categories until you have the Money Reserves category back to zero.

The day that I realized that you could unbudget money by entering a negative value was a good day.
