Feedback / Mobile... it's early-- feedback
« on: November 15, 2016, 10:54:55 AM »
A few observations on the mobile status.  I know this is "not ready at this time" and wanted to give some current feedback on what could be really problematic (or concerns):

1) I see it is improved from before when things were moving to much.
1b) it is way too easy to move categories on the budget page still.  Can there be a way to highlight/lock on "movement" purposefully if that is to be desired?
2) I tried to enter an expense but it had some problems in that I couldn't read the column headers.  I rotated but it got worse when the side bar jumped up.  There should be a way to zoom in or have the column header details be seen while inserting.

I'm wondering how much improvement on the mobile may be targeted before January?

Feature Requests / Categories, sub categories and sub sub categories

Hi Alex,

Long time listener first time requestor... ;)

I'm a little bit of an odd nut (or not that odd) in that I do have a "savings account" aligned with a major category.  I love being able to compare and reconcile that section of the budget-- and it keeps me aligned with pushing more money from the checking account to the savings account.  The sum of all categories in the master allows me to review against the savings account.

With this usage, it limits me in having a subset of categories I'd like to see the sum or break out on.  For instance, I have a "Wedding" category but it's a major category vs. break out for venue, photographer, tux, rehearsal dinner, etc.

How difficult would it be to have a second tier of sub categories within a major category as a feature request?

It's a nice to have and won't break my interest if it doesn't happen.

Category -->  Savings  (total of all sub categories)
Sub --->              ----  Wedding  (total of all sub sub categories)
Sub Sub-->                 -----   Venue
Sub Sub-->                 -----    tux

Introductions / Hello!

The financier software has caught my attention.  I've found the YNAB4 to be tremendously helpful and actually I make plans for my finances now.  This is good.  I like the speed of the trials I've had with financier-- it is looking good so far.  My one query before purchasing and migrating is "what's the outlook for a mobile app?"

I'm looking a major reset in January (not because of the new year but because of a marriage! :) ).  It could be a good time to start fresh on new software for combining budgets.
