Can we get a longer window on the quick-budget options? I have a 4 month old baby so the "average of last 3 months' budget" option isn't super representative. ;)
I do think that having 3 month, 6 month and year avg options would be nice.
Also does it make sense to have the average based on outflows vs budgeted?

Yeah, I've been turning that over in my head since making this request. Ideally, if we're adjusting to cover overspending, the budgeted amounts will always be equal to or greater than the spent amounts. Those may be pretty close together on frequently used categories, but what about savings categories that may have no expenses at all? Based on that, I think I'd prefer to quick budget with past budgeted numbers rather than past spending.

This would also be used for everyday expenses where there is underspending. If I underspend in a category for several months in a row, it would be nice to get that average so I can adjust my budget down. Using an average of budgeted amounts for the last three or six months in that case just keeps me over budgeting.
As for savings categories wouldn't you have already determined the monthly amounts to budget? If you get ahead or behind on your target the average budgeted amount of the last few months is not what you want is it?
Just thinking out loud.
I frequently use the last 12 months of actual spending to evaluate my budgeted amounts in YNAB4. My vote is for that to be at least one of the options available.
I wouldn't mind the link to be "Use average of last # months" then a pop-up window to enter any # of months you want. Flexible without adding extra lines to the UX
Just want to say that I agree to all of this discussion, but I'll address it all later when I circle back to it. 🙂
