Title: logging out -- best practices?
Post by: ramblinwreck on March 03, 2017, 08:04:30 AM
Is there any real difference between me just closing my browser/tab when I'm "done" with Financier instead explicitly clicking the "Logout" button?

Does the former force a 'sync' first, and is therefore safer? Or is there no difference?

For this question assume I'm working on my own private, home machine (not a shared/public machine), so I don't want/need to "remove local budgets".

Nope! Sync occurs as you make changes (unless you are offline, in which case sync occurs the next time you open Financier with an internet connection).

I never log out on my private machine. :)

There are very few reasons when someone would want to log out without clearing local budgets.

Thanks Alex.

I'm not sure I understood your last comment, though.
QuoteThere are very few reasons when someone would want to log out without clearing local budgets.

Based on my current understanding:
* If I'm on my own private machine, then I simply close the tab. No need to explicitly log out.
* If I'm on a shared/public machine (or more generally, anything other than my own private machine), then I want to "logout & remove local budgets".

Have I got that right? Or is it more complicated than that?

Thanks

Yep that's what you need to do.
