Title: Mobile app?
Post by: Joel on October 25, 2016, 04:19:11 PM
This is one of the top three features that I need in order to migrate over from YNAB4. The other two being scheduled transactions and import/export capabilities.

Would it be possible to get a rough timeline of when we could hope to see a mobile app? Specifically, a mobile app that works on an iPhone.

A very rough estimate with asterisks that you may very well miss the deadline is perfectly acceptable!  ;D I know many people want to start a new calendar year with a new app, and I was hoping I could make that switch parrot

I'm not planning a native mobile app. It'll we a responsive webapp with the current website.

I expect this before end of year, but no promises.

Regarding this, does that mean I would have to log onto safari (iPhone), navigate to the app.financier.io webpage, and then do the entry from there?

As that would certainly make it functional, but it would probably be too many steps for my wife to reliably enter her transactions.

You can just add it to the homescreen.

Care to explain how you do that?

First, navigate to http://app.financier.io (http://app.financier.io) with Safari on your phone.

You learn something new every day. Thank you.

This will definitely be doable. I hope someday that there is a native iPhone app that has GPS-enabled payees and offline access.

In that case, here's some more tidbits:

1. Geolocation works in web apps, and will be used in Financier. :)
2. The app will work offline, even as a web app on your phone. By visiting, it's downloaded, just like in the browser!

Pretty cool, huh? 🙂
