So what's up? Do anything fun? What's on your mind? parrot
To start off, today was good for me... WFH due to crazy traffic this morning.
After my day job I worked on Financier and watch The Office. :)
Survived the first snow of the year. Definitely need to get some winter tires on the Mini Cooper. Rocked it out with the band I'm in after work, and now I'm going to veg out with some Factorio.
Tomorrow is payday.
Three years ago, I would have spent the last few days scrounging for spare change among the couch cushions, scrambling for odd jobs, etc - anything to make it to payday without having to skip too many meals.
Today I look at my bank account balance and see that I have money in my savings account. None of my bills are past due. I'm not afraid to see what came in the mail. I don't dread answering the phone.
So I'm feeling pretty good this morning.
I was in the same position. Despite the direction YNAB has gone in with their software, the initial philosophy and YNAB3 & 4 certainly changed my financial fortunes and I enjoy budgeting now too.
Tired. 4 hours of sleep last night. A long day at work starting very early in the morning. 3 hours of running errands after work. Then band practice. I'm going to video game myself into a coma tonight.
Ugh, this week has been so shitty. I haven't been able to focus on anything.
The. Shittest. Eva.
Today, worked, picked up my oldest daughter from preschool, and debriefing from the election night.
Broke two picks jamming on my bass at band practice tonight. Released quite a bit of stress.
We made Rocking in the Free World count tonight.
Awesome, LOL. :) 🤘
Being out of the office for two weeks caused three weeks worth of work in one week. Now I need a vacation. It's a vicious cycle.
Yeah, we got a lot of snow here in Wisconsin (first of this winter) and I'm already done with winter. :P
Maybe it's time to book a flight to Cozumel (scuba diving)...

I feel that way coming back from the weekend-- someone is always doing something to follow up about.

Snow is an invitation to strap on the skis or snowshoes and go out to play. One of my favorite winter activities is to snowshoe into the forest during a light snowfall. I enjoy stopping to look and listen. There is movement from the falling snow, but absolutely no sound. This is one of the few places that I feel removed from the busy world and completely relaxed. I'm looking forward to some wonderful days in the forest this winter.

I totally agree. When I lived in Oregon I loved the winter b/c of skiing. It's just not the same with the small hills here in Wisconsin though. ;)
Actually just went skiing at Mt Hood (timberline lodge) today! In PDX for this week on vacation. 😎
I'm feeling absolutely glorious.
In the last week of my fantasy football regular season, I needed to upset the top ranked team that was 11-1 and I needed the 4th ranked team to lose. The top ranked team had Le'Veon Bell who put up 50+ points in our PPR league. However, my team absolutely dominated him besides that! Ended up winning 163-131! The 4th place team went into MNF needing 11 points from Mike Wallace. He only got 10.2 points. It was a nailbiter! My team snuck into the playoffs as a result! It was absolutely glorious!
It's holiday crunch time at work, again. My group supports several manufacturing plants, which are all trying to wrap up big projects before the end of the year. The requests for help are coming in faster than I can handle them, as usual. They tried throwing me under the bus in one instance yesterday, and that did not fly. 8)
Ready for the winter lull...
I'm exhausted! I started a new job that means I am commuting 65 miles each way along the pacific coast so despite having to get up early at least the ocean views are worth it. Our daughter is determined never to sleep - its for the weak - so rolling on ~ 4 hours of shut eye. On top of that, just found out I am going to be training for 3 weeks in Wisconsin in Jan/Feb, can't wear shorts and flip flops there...

Now that's living the good life! I live between Bend and Sisters. I consider myself fortunate to have the Cascade Mountains in my backyard with all of the great outdoor activities. There should be a big dump of snow on Wednesday. We are expecting 12" in my area. Have a great time skiing this week!
@Alex I assume you are writing code while on the sky lift?
I write code when I sleep, too! 💤
You chose a good time to come to Portland if you like skiing, Alex, the mountain has gotten dumped on this winter already (most snow since 2008 for this early).
I am done with the holidays and winter and neither are officially here, yet <sigh>.

I tend to write code in the shower.
I'm feeling well but it will be better if Alex include a link to https://discuss.financier.io/index.php?action=recent in the forum menu up there ::) .
I found the "disable traction control" button in my car over the weekend. This pleases me.
Falcons won, Bucs lost, Hawks lost! Feeling real good. 👍
Another post-holiday thrashing at work this week. This one hasn't been as bad as the week after Thanksgiving, so I should be back to posting a significant amount of nonsense soon enough.
Anyone scuba dive? Going to cozumel later this week... :)
I'm feeling poorly today.
SCUBA? no, but I have done SCBA training.

These Financier employee retreats are getting out of hand!
Trying to sell my scuba gear. Family commitments and my BCD, Regs and Tank are just sitting in storage. My 100 cu ft super steel has been working for a good 20 years. Only need 6 lb weight belt to get neutral buoyancy.
Visibility in my area is usually pea soup.

Snow skiing last month and now scuba diving this month! I like to goof-off on vacation as much as anyone, but I think we need to establish some parameters before the next vacation.
Let's try this in language that
@Alex will understand.
if (scheduled_transactions_completed && mobile_app_completed) {
vacation = "Yes";
} else {
vacation = "No";
}
:P
lol! I'd say a much larger time sink has been purchasing a home. Still in the process of it. :P

You should use boolean rather than text strings for binary return values.

I mean, I'm following
@Mike's code to the letter! ("Yes" and "No" both are truthy). ;)
var vacation = true;
if (true) {
vacation = true;
} else {
vacation = true;
}
return vacation;
assert(vacation, true);
vacation or die
for real 8)
Is that two quarts of motor oil puddled on the floor in the back of the car.......
yep 😑
After a great weekend with my family... feeling a bit stressed at work.
