I may put together a standalone "beta" site (which won't sync your actual budget) to get some feedback before making the new version live. I'm adding the ability to create and add/edit/remove budgets, accounts, and categories, so the app should be almost fully testable without requiring syncing with the main app.

Sounds good, always happy to beta test.

Alright, if you haven't noticed already, the development updates have been few and far between lately. Attached is a picture of the primary reason.

Finally got some free time tonight so I thought I would give the payee manager a run for its money, I used it to merge a heap of duplicates and also to rename several categories. Worked really well.

I did have one small but notable victory. If you have ever entered a long memo for a transaction that also has a long category name, you might find that the two values overlap in the account transaction list.

Yep nice, im quite verbose with my descriptions and ran into this issue from time to time. Would also like to say I wasn't really fussed one way or another when you announce the new advanced calculator function but I have used it countless times already now and it really helps.

Yep looks like that could be the case, I also tried on Firefox with pretty much the same result. If I load up the official web application it opens in about 8-10 seconds on the same phone so still not amazing but a fair bit quicker. I have about 4 years worth of data in my account.

No not as far as i can tell, it does a sync as the buttons are greyed out whilst the sync occurs which normally takes a few seconds. After the initial one and then when you click the open budget button it does nothing and then about 40 seconds later the budget screen opens, no spinner etc.

Seems to be working ok as far as sync is concerned, I have noticed that its taking longer and longer to open my budget each time, its got years worth of data in it but the desktop app doesn't suffer the same problem. It takes anywhere from 35-50 seconds to open the budget after it has completed syncing and clicking on the open button.

Don't know if there is anything you can do about this but thought i would mention it anyway as its always been bad but it does feel like its gotten worse.

Sorry for the late reply but yep i use it multiple times per day.... I use it at work, home, on the mobile. Whilst I did use a lot of the features that YNAB had like scheduled transactions and reporting, and I still miss them to this day, I make do without them. That being said, I really wish people would keep developing new features :)

I think its in the backlog somewhere but it would be good to have some sort of notification system to warn users of issues like this after they have entered a transaction with a missing category. This has caught me out a couple of times too.

Ahh yea I am suffering the same problem! It appears to be related to the payee field, if I leave it blank it works as it did when I tried yesterday. But if I do enter a payee (as I normally would) I cannot save.
