Bug Reports / Financier down?

Hi @Alex,

Looks like financier might be down. Cannot login, sync etc.

I have really noticed this more since the category inspector was released. When a category has transactions for the month but they all add up to zero the outflow box is empty instead of zero. I think it would be better in these instances to actually display zero so you know the category has had transactions and you can click on them to see the inspector.

My reimbursable expenses category suffers from this the most.

The 'Previous payees' section of the payee list is not sorted anymore. The transfer section is correct and matches the order of the accounts list.

Feature Requests / Category balance popup after entering a transaction.

One feature I think would be nice to have is when you enter a transaction, a popup is briefly displayed showing you the new balance of the category used. I often find myself entering a transaction and then clicking back on the budget to see what the new balance is.

I loved this feature in the YNAB mobile app but it was always missing from the main interface.

Bug Reports / Off budget and closed accounts still touch draggable

I noticed on trello that disabling touch dragging the accounts has been completed. Looks like it only works for the on budget accounts. My off budget and closed accounts still get moved when trying to scroll the accounts list in mobile view.

Bug Reports / Date saving on the previous day

When you enter a date it is saving it as the day before.


Example, i enter 16/11/2016 and it saves as 15/11/2016, this seems to have only started occurring in the latest release. Its 7PM in Melbourne (AEDT)

Bug Reports / Quick budget 'last 3 months' not calculating correctly

When using the quick budget option 'Average of last 3 months' it is only calculating the average for the visible previous months on the screen.

Eg. Open your budget the current month is displayed, select any category and use the quick budget 'Average of last 3 month', as no previous months are displayed on the screen it just returns null. If you then make the previous month visible it calculates it based on the one month divided by 3 and so on until all months are visible on the screen.

The same problem occurs when using the quick budget for the entire month.

Bug Reports / Date field freezing when typing a date manually

When manually typing a date into a date field, the whole browser tab locks up for an extended period of time.

Steps to reproduce:
  • Open budget
  • Click on account
  • Click add new transaction
  • Start typing 15/01/2016, I can only get to 15/01/20 before it locks up for 10-30 seconds before becoming responsive again. It then appears to work ok until you refresh the browser or close the tab and the delay occurs again.
Tested on Chrome, Firefox, Edge on Windows on multiple computers, same on all.

Just been testing out the new keyboard date shortcut keys, looks like the plus & minus keys don't work when using the number pad :( (windows & chrome).

Feature Requests / Shortcut keys for date fields

It would be nice to have some shortcut keys for date fields.

+ = add 1 day to existing date
-  = minus 1 day from existing date
t  = today (useful to quickly correct the date if something else is in the field).

This makes it quicker when entering dates, especially for transactions that occur a day or two ago as its just a button press away without having to touch the mouse.

Bug Reports / App in IE 11 wont sync

Not really an issue for me, hate IE with a passion, just noticed it as I was using it at work to test one of our web apps.

Steps to reproduce:
  • Browse to the app
  • Login, no errors are displayed but the login doesn't occur (still says logged out) and neither does the sync.
  • Try a page refresh (no change - logged out)
  • Close IE completely, reopen, browse to web app
  • It is now logged in and says syncing, but never completes or if it does complete the budget isn't there.
Tried it at work and at home.

Hi All,

I'm a YNAB4 converted full time Financier user from Melbourne Australia. I was annoyed at the direction nYNAB had taken and I declared I would never leave YNAB4. Then I found Financier on Reddit.

Initially I thought Financier was missing too many features for me to adopt straight away so I signed up to the premium to show some support but had no intention of using it for at least 6 - 12 months and see where it was at then. I think it was about a two weeks later, I was amazed at the responsiveness of Alex & the speed the features were being released. As soon as the split transaction feature was I came over full time 8) .

My wishlist if I had to only cram in 3 would be.
  • Scheduled transactions
  • Importing bank OFX from bank
  • Importing historic YNAB4 data

Feature Requests / Clear local budget when logged out

Would be nice to be able to clear the local budget when you are already logged out without having to clear all browser history.


That way you can logout, have a play / break your budget then just delete the budget without having to login which would trigger a sync.
