I don't see how that's an excuse, you did your bit...

Congratulations, prepare for your life to change!

Hired a sleep consultant to help us teach the kids to nap and sleep better. I think it might actually work too! Pretty excited about prospect of getting a good night's sleep and getting to spend time with wife!

You can do this with the mobile web app which works in any browser but not currently with the main app. It's on 'the list' though.

@Crotha Did you check your regional settings?

Another hack workaround if that didn't work, could be to use something like AutoHotkey to replace the comma with a decimal only in Financier:

Code: [Select]
SetTitleMatchMode,2
#IfWinActive, - Financier
$,::Send .
#ifwinactive

I'm afraid that is beyond my limited skills. I am happy to help anyone (@Alex ?) with the knowledge to implement them or similar.

Hopefully, this will keep us going until then; I'm happy to help anyone with configuring or implementing their own report(s).

Added the Income/Inflows report.

I have added an Income, Expenditure, Net report to my own version but this requires some manipulation of the metrics. If you would like this report you will have to build the additional calculated fields yourself. Let me know if you would like a guide.

I made some tweaks that I think look and work better

I've just discovered Google's Data Studio (free for individuals). I am going to see if I can build a report and share it where you can just add your own data source (the financier export)

Here it is - very beta and basic for now but I will keep adding functionality and reports. I think this is how you can get it working

1. Sign up for Google Data Studio (Free)
2. Open and make a copy of this report (below): Click Edit and then File > Make A Copy

https://datastudio.google.com/open/1f1gZJxd9sxnTNbetbzKB8e-FAXhHB10X

3. Export your data from Financier and extract the xxxxx - Register.csv file
4. Upload the report to Google Drive and Open with Google Sheets
5. In the Data Studio Report: File > Report Settings
6. Create a new data file
7. Select your financier export from Google Sheets
8. Adjust the data type of Inflow and outflow to Currency
9. Click Add to Report
10. Press View to access the report

I built this for myself so that I could better analyze my data. Unfortunately one must export one's data and import into Google Sheets, and so its static at the point.
I am afraid its a little basic and Google doesn't allow for the dynamic creation of charts from the pivot tables. I am, though, experimenting with some data validation options to achieve this.

I am sharing this in the hope that it is helpful to someone else but also in case others are able to enhance it (or use other apps) to create better reporting until Financier's options improve.

Just make sure you keep enough in checking and put excess into savings.

This would be a good use case to make sure that I have enough money in my checking:

Bills Categories + Credit Cards  = Minimum to keep in checking

Feature Requests / Virtual Accounts or Categories
« on: April 19, 2018, 06:51:24 PM »
I store money for long-term categories in a savings account. This is made up of a combination of category balances (emergency fund, buffer, vacation fund, shiny stuff etc).

I know the categories balance (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5) = Account Balance

My enhancement request would be to provide the functionality to create virtual accounts/categories that are made up of common mathematical operators in conjunction with any combination of  Category Budget, Category Outflow, Category Balance, Total Balance, Total Outflows, Total Budgeted, Account Balance, Account Cleared, Account Uncleared.

This would allow me to monitor and track all sorts of balance subsets automatically without having to do the maths, especially as they change regularly. I have a 4-month-old and 2.5 yr old. I'm so tired.

For example, my wife and I have retirement funds in multiple accounts, 6 I think, - Virtual Accounts will allow me to bundle those together.

My true Buffer balance is a combination of many categories and account balances. Answer? Virtual Accounts (I think).

Or am I just looking at my budget incorrectly; I really should be [insert other option...]

@keyboard You must enter a number into the balance field even if it is 0.00
