Hello from NY's Hudson River Valley
« on: December 13, 2016, 10:14:07 AM »
Hi all,

So pleased to see some familiar usernames both from MMM and the YNAB forum. Hurts my heart that the YNAB forum may be on its way out and I want to be ensconced somewhere else before that happens. The personal finance community has changed my life dramatically in the last five or so years.

Looking forward to many fruitful exchanges of information here! And hoping someone starts a Journals section at some point.

Cheers,

Alison, aka Tigerlily

I have noticed the YNAB forums are very testy over this last year.  Is the demise official as far as a plan to close them down?

IMO, the testiness has died down quite a bit. But some folks recently noticed that YNAB's homepage no longer links to the forum, which seems like a bad sign. I still plan to be active over there (and I'm not sure I'll even be changing software just yet, even though I'm now a paying Financier customer). I just want to know that there is an alternate place where private -- more than FB -- discussion about PF and budgeting can take place, in case the other disappears suddenly.

YNAB has been trying to kill their community for a while now. I wish them luck with that strategy.
