Feedback / Re: Fluid app works just fine
January 07, 2017, 09:19:27 AM
Here is a log for you @Alex. I understand it is a low priority matter but maybe if you have a slow day some day.  ;D

EDIT: The "SandboxIPCHandler stopping." is the result of me closing the app window. So it just hangs forever before that.

https://www.npmjs.com/package/nativefier. It's something called nativefier and runs on windows, mac & linux. I managed to install everything correctly and then created a 'financier app'. However financier is stuck at loading the page'.

@Alex I have seen the same thing as @Jacques here. A couple of Financier versions ago a nativefier built "app" loaded and ran Financier just fine. Now it is always stuck at the loading screen. I will try to figure out how to get some proper logs from nativefier when I get to my desktop.

Bug Reports / Re: Syncing Issue

:( Like a UUID? That's weird and annoying. Definitely shouldn't be happening. Means your payees weren't syncing properly.

I experienced the same thing now for two of yesterday's transactions. Left the transaction view an then went back. All back to normal.

That's the first I heard about that (I haven't been paying attention). I use owncloud extensively at home, so I should probably do some homework...

I already jumped ship, running Nextcloud with no issues. They are still compatible so now is a good time to switch.

@heb3Ach would you prefer capitalize first letter of month in the month selector thing? Super easy to do

Yes, I think that would look so much better. Also removing the dot. I can see where the localization guy came from with this thought but it screws the style in this case. :)

Feature Requests / Month headline format
December 03, 2016, 04:52:31 PM
This might be a bit picky but still... things need to be easy on the eyes. :)

For English this is not an issue. But in some locales months are written with lower case letters all the way through in a sentence. This is correct but it gets ugly when the month is used by itself like for the heading in every column in a budget. I can live with the lower case in the "navigation pane" that holds all the months since they are abbreviated anyway. But for the header I think no locale would suffer from capitalizing the first letter in the month even if it means overriding the locale.

I attached screenshots to show the difference.

I'm like, 25% Swedish... I think.

Not bad.  ;)

If you ever want to translate Financier, let me know!

Sure thing. Better get started right away. Is there a git to work on or how do we communicate?

Introductions / Geeky Swede signing in

Hi,

I have been using YNAB4 for a while. When nYNAB came along I started to look into alternatives. The end result was that I lost the momentum I gained with YNAB4. Tonight I found Financier and it seem to fit me very well. I used nativefier to get the desktop feeling and it actually made me smile. With a small script to get the localisation as wanted I was of to the races and back into budgeting. Great stuff so far Alex!

Ugh. Sorry @Paul :) I'd do something if I could... But the code is the exact same as it was previously re: i18n :(

Date localisation works fine running Chromium on GNU/Linux as well.
