Financier Forums

I have been a YNABer for about 4 years. Love(d) the software and was hopeful for the future. But, that was not to be the case.

One of the reasons I have come over to the Financier Forum is that I want to get back to just budgeting and learning about doing my finances better. Have not felt much at home in other forums.

Thanks to Alex for putting in the work and producing a great product. I will be trying things out over the next few days and weeks.

I don't know much about programming but I am looking forward to the ride as Financier continues to develop and grow!

I love budgeting. To me, it isn't about putting the screws on but it's a plan for spending your money in an intentional way.

I hate the idea of being frugal just for its own sake. But when a budget can tell me I spent less than I thought needed for a boring category like the light bill and can tell me the exact amount of money left over, that gets exciting.  I'd rather spend money on something fun like tech or new clothes than dish soap and utility bills.

I think part of the secret is to budget a comfortable amount so you can live without a ton of pressure.  Then it's fun to be careful and keep your eye on the ball cause there will be a prize when the bill comes and/or the next pay period rolls around.
