What do you think of having an area where you can use as a notepad with all formating protocols ? 

I've thought about doing something with that area, but I don't want the UX to get too cluttered.

Month notes is on the list, though!

That also looks like a great spot for a calendar, in case you wanted to use it for something related to scheduled transactions.

Perhaps it could be all of these things that can swiped left and right maybe including a thumbnail view of reports or a spark line trend of spending to budget for the month or AOM.

Love this idea!  I was just trying to make that color match the color of the month picker using Stylish, but I would much rather have a small month view calendar or note taking or something useful right there!
