I made it clear that I was moving to another product, and that we only needed about a month to get our taxes sorted out. I'm just happy that they'll do a trial instead of requiring a full year membership that I would have to cancel, hoping to get a pro-rated refund.

I have no idea when they eliminated the $5/month option since I haven't really been paying attention for the last few months. Maybe it was easier to replace it with $50/year + the option to cancel at anytime for a partial refund. Technically, that would be cheaper, as long as the refund was pro-rated and guaranteed. ($4.17/month)

Seems like a strategy that would make new users less likely to commit.
Biking and budgeting my way to early retirement!

They don't do the monthly subscription anymore, but they will give me a month long trial when we're ready to do tax stuff. I will accept that consolation gift.

I'm not sure if I have misunderstood the point being made - however, I logged into My Account for nYNAB just this week and was able to change it online, from annual to monthly, to buy me some time.

This is the only option I have on the renewal screen. Might be different for those that don't have an active subscription? I asked for the trial to be re-opened, so we'll see what it looks like once I'm back online.

ETA: Their pricing page on the website also makes no mention of the the $5/month option.

Thanks for the info - yes, it looks as though I was OK because my annual sub does not expire until Feb. Trying to boost their cashflow perhaps??
